Movie commentary: Made of Honor!
Just got back from Made of Honor.

There is not 1 moment in that movie that wasn't predictable, but!

I really enjoyed it anyway. PD - lots of skin. HBR and others will be pleased to know his hairy chest makes many appearances, and the hair on his head? Really not that bad at all. I actually liked it. I imagine the tighty-whities moment will be a portion of the DVD worn thin after you buy it ;p

PD had great chemistry with MM and the rest of the cast. He really has great comedic timing. And he looks great -- the work he did on his arms in particular paid off big time. It was so weird seeing him play basketball -- that's the first time I've seen him in a particularly athletic / contact sport role and I was surprised to find it fit him very well (even if he was faking it lol). The costume designers really knew what they were doing with this movie, I gotta say. When he did have clothes on, they were almost always his best colors. The blues and blacks were very striking.

Anyway, don't go in expecting revolutionary cinema, and you'll come out very happy smile.gif Very entertaining all around. Even SSBR enjoyed it. Mostly.

I was very hyper after this movie.
There might have been some comparing of PD to milk duds. (My roommate said they were better because they were covered in chocolate and full of carmel. Things just got dirty after that.)

But yeah other than the hottness, not much for revolutionary cinema.
Though one of my friends (who is also a film major) and I had lots of fun kind of tearing it apart. (Like the REALLY bad editing/shot choice in the restaurant when Hannah tells Tom about the engagement and stuff)

But it was funny and PD was good and hot and yeah. I will prob see it again for those reasons.

I agree about the shot where Hannah tells Tom she's engaged....The camera spinning around the table made me dizzy.

The film has just come out over here. I've read a couple reviews and it has been absolutely panned, not the performances as such, but the film itself. I never take any notice of critics though, I don't think they have much idea what people actually like.

From the clips I've seen, the film is just a light-hearted bit of fun. I don't see any harm in that.

PD has done a few interviews over here. I was watching the news the other night and he popped up, not a thing that happens in the UK much. The interviewer didn't seem to know that much about him. Apparently at one of his public appearances he ended up juggling some plates. The interviewer seemed amazed that he could do it.

I hope Made of Honour helps to promote Grey's over here. I've lost count of the number of people I have spoken to who have never seen Grey's Anatomy. It does okay in the ratings, but is on channel 5 who are currently showing season 3 (or Living TV on satellite tv, who I hope will start season 4 soon) which I think is the wrong channel for it. I'm sure most of you would be surprised to know that most, if not all, of the actors from Grey's Anatomy could walk down a British street and not be recognised.

I can't wait for this movie to come my way. I hope soon. Iron Man opened the same weekend here in Thailand as it did in the States, but sometimes we have to wait a month or so.

Anyway, I found something for the NPD Fairy. I left a post on my livejournal page www.macsmitty.livejournal.com about my find! You may already have it in your collection, but it is too funny not to share. =) I was on You Tube and noticed there was a new shower scene mentioned when searching Grey's Anatomy. It has some of the Men of Grey's as well as Bailey --- the whole thing is a spoof on the George/Girls shower scene. I have never seen it before in my DVDs nor in the year or so that i've been a fan of GA. But, I'm sure it's been out there awhile. Just can't figure out how they did it, and if the actors really did this or if this is somehow all CGI. I don't have a link, other than to say do a search on You Tube under Grey's and then words like shower scenes.

Still dreaming of reading your next installment of LST. MacSmitty
